Ateeka Contee
LCPC, Certified Chi for Two Embodiment Coach
Ateeka Contee is a Couple’s relationship therapist, licensed to practice in Maryland and Florida. Ateeka was born and raised in India where she developed her passion for yoga/Ayurveda. She founded White Lotus Wellness Center and was professor of Yoga Studies within University of Maryland’s Kinesiology department. Ateeka fused her previously earned master’s in business, her lifelong yogic devotion, and her 2nd master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to provide professional counseling services, integrating a holistic approach which emphasizes the connection of mind, body, and spirit.
Ateeka works in communities of color with a collaborative approach addressing multi-generational trauma. Ateeka is a featured writer for Counseling Today magazine where she speaks to the absence of cultural competencies in the mental health industry.
In 2021, Ateeka trained in Nature Therapy and was quickly accepted as a faculty member, attending to issues of diversity and inclusion. Chi for Two and Nature Therapy align naturally because both help us awaken and process the systemic trauma that developed as cultures got out of connection with Mother Earth.
